Humanin Research Peptide — 5mg Lyophilized
Humanin is a 21-amino acid mitochondria-derived peptide (MDP) encoded within the 16S rRNA gene of the mitochondrial genome. It was first identified through expression cloning from the surviving neurons of an Alzheimer’s disease patient and has been studied as an endogenous neuroprotective and cytoprotective factor.
Published research has examined Humanin’s effects on mitochondrial function, apoptosis inhibition, insulin sensitivity, and neuroinflammation in cell culture and animal models. It binds to several receptors including FPRL1, IL-6 receptor, and mitochondrial-associated membrane components.
