FOXO4-DRI (D-Retro-Inverso FOXO4) is a synthetic D-amino acid retro-inverso isomer of a FOXO4 peptide segment designed to competitively interfere with FOXO4-p53 protein-protein interaction in senescent cells. This interaction is thought to maintain survival of senescent cells. FOXO4-DRI was first described by Baar et al. (Cell, 2017) and has since become a widely used tool in senescence research.
Research applications include in vitro and in vivo senescence studies, geroscience research, and studies examining selective elimination of senescent cells (senolytics) in aging biology models.
